Hi! It’s us again. Sorry for ghosting you but a lot has changed in the 7 years since we last posted. So where did we leave off?
- Both Gus and I did not go back to our careers, choosing a “work-optional” lifestyle instead which involved some consulting work on the side and volunteering our time towards passion causes.
- We picked up new hobbies and skills like learning to play an instrument(G/D) or fly fishing (G).
- We adopted two cats whom we named Schrödinger (after Schrödinger’s Cat) and Heisenberg (after the other quantum physicist and whom the character in Breaking Bad is named after). They are little trouble makers and have been the main focus of our attention and time over the last 6 years.
- We continued to travel, though the cats and of course the pandemic seriously limited our travels. Our travels included kayaking and snorkeling at Raja Ampat (G/D), a Maui Surf retreat and trips to Italy, Korea with the girls (D), a wedding in Miami where D got Covid and numerous roadtrips to national parks, etc (G/D)
Now that we got the boring stuff out of the way, let’s get back to it.
We are heading back to Argentina to finish what we never started. It was here where 7 years ago we began the last leg of our year-long journey to explore the world and had many fantastic experiences, such as attending a Boca Jr. soccer game, gliking in El Chalten, and walking among Magellanic penguins on Isla Martillo. What we did not get to do was visit Antarctica, the southernmost continent and, to some, where the world ends. We had previously looked into last minute deals while in Ushuaia, but the timing did not work out. Now we’ve come full circle, back to Argentina, back to Ushuaia, to take that Antarctica trip, spending 20 days on a boat to sail towards the ice-covered continent, to march with the penguins, and to pay our respects to Shackleton. And what better reason to dust off the blog than to document our adventures visiting the only continent we haven’t explored.
We hope you’ll come along on this adventure as we experience this remote part of the world and to prove that the world is not flat. Maybe.
